I've recently purchased OpManager which is a comprehensive network monitoring tool that offers combined WAN, LAN, Server, Database and Application monitoring. OpManager proactively monitors and alerts through web alarms, email and even text messages to my mobile phone - I'm now sure of not getting into any serious IT infrastructure crisis. I thought OpManager will be useful for you too.
