hRelease is a community effort to define a new format for press releases via a community standard microformat. It uses a wiki to collaborate on projects
webitpr has used a social media release. It uses a range of media to get the message across. In the webitpr release, video and audio is used, and journalists are also provided with a range of images.
Podcasts are essentially audio shows with a distinct delivery mechanism (download from the web, often via aggregators and feeds). They could work very well with almost any social media release.
The blogger relations program consists of a blogger relations blog (in the n90 mold; I’ll provide a link when it’s officially open for business) and early access to the Click.TV tools so bloggers and video bloggers will be able to create their own Click.TV-based videos. They’ll be able to show off what anybody will be able to do when the Click.TV sharing site launches down the road.
Obviously, I don’t have many results yet, though we have had some coverage in a couple of blogs, which I am tracking in our purpose-built delicious page. I am also tracking metrics with Feedburner, Google Analytics, and Veoh’s cool interface to detect how views of our videos (so far a little over 3,000).
When used with RSS and aggregators, blogs can provide a very powerful means of identifying the impact of any campaign. This can be both qualitative - the sentiment of opinio in the blogosphere - as well as quantitative - the number of mentions and popularity of bloggers.
