The Future of Being Human is a State University of New York Empire State College interdisciplinary science course funded by the Charitable Leadership Foundation. Students enter a futuristic transformation station, transform into various avatars, and are transported to different worlds. They are guided through a range of experimental and exploratory activities using a HUD [heads up display].

Virtual Worlds are already extremely popular social entertainment platforms - something that is set to grow - Spice Mining is part of a Sci Fi Roleplay experience that is evolving on Splintered Rock.
Here on the meteor, it is 2499 and we hurtle through space, bereft of sun. The gloom persists. But not too long ago, we found some fragments from a non-quite forgotten past, and they ignited our imaginations. Images, a poem, some sounds, a fragment of video, pieces of text, pulled off an ancient disc from 2009 that somehow survived in space and floated to us.
What an archeological find! The motifs invigorated our design, infiltrated our dreams, shaped our virtual environments. The sun, the flower, the ripple, the snow. A poem that speaks to our experience here on the gloom meteor, my own desert place that I call home. But then of course I toggle into the virtual, and my eyes drink in the water, my skin sears with the heat of the sun, I am enveloped by the petals of the flower, and I turn my face and part my lips to taste the falling snow.

Dream Travelers announces their latest project, a walk-through brain.
SL provides the perfect platform for interactive immersion and learning. The Sojourner saw the potential and wanted to create a walk-through brain to teach about strokes. She wasn't able to see it happen in her lifetime, but the dream lived on.
The brain build is under construction. Eventually though, thanks to the capabilities of SL we will be able to enter the brain and to learn more how it operates. But for now, enjoy the informative exhibit and dream. Dream about the time when SL will have a brain.

The SL6B Ball Machine is a rolling ball kinetic sculpture that demonstrates some of the capabilities of the current SL physics engine and inspires thoughts of what may be possible with future upgrades.
MCM is a comprehensive Roleplay System which allows for Mech Warriors to pilot the Mech of thier choice in full combat situations, either as a solo pilot or in a player made clan. Additionally there is a SIM which also has a combat system for the pilots to enrich thier characters background story and history. There are several classes available to the pilots, as well as armor, weapon and accessory choices.
This is the first multi-comprehensive set of SIMs which are dedicated and built exclusively for both the pilots and the mechs. So whether you are a Roleplayer at heart, or a cold metal machine, we got you covered.
MECHS: There are over 80 mechs in different styles. You might recognize some mechs inspired by Mech Warriors, Battle Tech, Steel Battalion, and some purely from imagination. Additionally pairing up your mech with dozens of different weapons will give your mech different effectiveness for damage dealing, sniping, mobility or specializations.
CLANS: The clans are player run and administered. There are over a dozen clans currently which battle for supremacy in the galaxy. The clans battle for planets, ally, and backstab each other in battle every Wednesday and Saturday.
In the future, we will use virtual world technology to explore the possibilities of the stars and planets in the rest of our galaxy or the entire universe.

I think fashion industry is just sleeping or anxious to try new ways and they do not understand how to make things work well in virtual worlds. With this exhibition I try to focus on the possibility to use virtual worlds for a better product presentation and improved sales possibilities, for showing us here in a relaxed way at home at our favourite fun place the items we wanna buy! Welcome to the Oriental house of the future. Our past made us strong and tradition brought us the world as we now know. It’s 2900. We hold on to our past as you can see on the first floor. But when you enter, you see our technology. All things communicate and the moon is within reach. Like in SL, distances are diminishing. This house gets its energy from the earth and passes the energy we have not used, to others. Energy is the most important thing in 2900. It has information screens to see what is happening in the house and what is happening to people we love. We don’t need food anymore, we need energy so we energize for half an hour a day. Colors give energy too, that is why you see a lot of colors. Please note we could not display all we wanted due to primlimit. In 2900 primlimit will not be a problem anymore We hope you enjoy it! Will virtual worlds of the future see lifeforms other then humans? SL is full of stuff, plants, trees, animals and fish, but all lifeless. There are some places showing natural landscapes, with "wild faunas" but in the end those animals are just no more than moving objects and lovely though static plants and trees. The future, instead, will see real lifeforms capable of living and dying, moving, reproducing, evolving and even interacting with humans. That is what we intend to provide.
RPS is a role-play system dedicated to building on the unique features offered to role-players in virtual worlds. Rather than attempting to replicate video games or pen-and-paper games, we have taken a unique and new approach to RP - specific to virtual worlds.

On arrival on the "Rock" it was apparent that a natural serene space was needed for the inhabitants, that reminded them of Earth, where they could sit and gather their thoughts. Steel treelike forms were erected and natural mouldlike organism found living on the rock itself were genetically modified to transform them from microscopic organisms to muchroomlike plantlife.
Earth Roots: Media Exhibition IV This is the fourth of twelve exhibitions on Dallier’s Hope concerning human culture as it was on earth in the early 21st century. The exhibition offers a moment to consider what cultural memory might mean on a distant asteroid in the future.

My exhibit is a large moving and color changing build that is meant to signify both the diversity and the ever changing nature of virtual worlds and how they will keep changing.
I investigated the rock that shone in blue. The rock that shoots a mysterious, blue light as having hung to magic ・There is strength three times the diamond. ・It has the same mass as gold. ・It reacts with water and an intense gas is discharged. It was such a feature.
The voltage has been applied to this rock by mistake at doing a certain experiment. When the pulse is impressed, the strong magnetic field that has not been experienced has generated several volts up to now. In addition, strong light is originated.I established the generating set by using this strange phenomenon.

The area on the ground is defined by transluscent banners that slowly rotate and bend with the wind. Coloured shimmering clouds lie on the ground with poses When visitors sit on them, alone or in pairs, they start dancing, doing meditation, doing taichi or some other movement . They are taken for a ride through various atmospheric sky environments.
Our focus in this exhibit was to use Light, Colour, Textures and Movement to create things that we can imagine but cannot make in the real world as we know it. The enjoyment of people who visit our environments is paramount. We want our visitors to have FUN!
A visual timeline totem-pole depicting the second life and career of Thomas Potato. A custom builder and virtual artist. The pole currently spans up to 245 meters in the air and includes a free "got to the top" hat that resides at a particular place on the totem pole.
