I reside in Emporia with my wife and 4 kids. Among my favorite KSRA memories are rowing stroke for the novice 8 while hung over with a broken right hand...and proving beyond a doubt that a shell will float when swamped.
The crew was by and large the best athletic experience of my life. I still reside in Manhattan, KS and have been working steadily since I left the team. It's great to see that the club is still going strong!
Some of the foundest memories of my college days were spent on and off the water. Great friends and challenges. I think we all lived on dreams and ate macaroni and cheese to survive. I still remember when watching the ghost by the boathouse on a late summer evening and laughing about it at country kitchen with Traci.
married brenda hemberger (womans rowing 76-77). have been farming since college. have 6 kids , two of which are k -state grads. one vivid memory is of coach rose. giving one of his speaches from the launch. using an analogy. leaning this huge megaphone on the gunnel of the lauch. this one in particular was , rowing is like a woman......yep doubt that sort of speech would fly in todays world.
I loved --Rowing! Was one of the "Best" experiences I have had in my life. The teamwork, the long hours of hard work -- all paid off. 6 mins 30 secs is not a long time at all :)

I rowed for on the original high school team my senior year (1986-1987) and the college team (1987-1988). Ruth Ann's father, Brad Johsnon, rowed for K-State (1983-1987) and her cousin, Lori Holcomb, also rowed (2000-2004).
Liz and I sold our home in 2007, purchased a fifth-wheel trailer and have been traveling the USA for about a year. So far, we've parked our fifth-wheel in 27-states and toured 27-National Parks. We have been in all the western states and plan to tour the north and eastern states beginning in late June 2008. If you would like us to stop by, send us an e-mail and we'll see if we can plan our travels to make it happen.

Living in Tallahasse, FL (becoming a "closet 'Noles Fan"). Working as a Realtor and have gotten into Triathlons (sprint distances) - really enjoy the challenge. Love the area - close to wonderful beaches and a great College/Capital city community.
I am living in Kansas City, and working at a great company. I design logos and marketing materials for community pharmacies. Occasionally I get to travel for conferences, and that's always fun.
This spring I plan on joining the Kansas City rowing club, and I am really looking forward to it.
After my three years of rowing I'm taking a break in the southern hemisphere, enjoying my stay in Australia for 6 months, learning to surf, traveling around, and finding time to study: urban design, photography, sport in history, and 3d CAD Modeling. I'll be back in the states in July of 2004.
