As a consistently 10 or less than 15 year old, it is doubtless you've noticed that getting Proficiency onto your favored weapon isn't easy. It takes quite a while and will take you many repair trips just to get it to 100 or to make that next upgrade and every repair trip can be quite a gamble, not even Edern is infallible and you don't want to meet anyone who has just had Nerys fail on their hard trained weapon(s). Not a pretty sight, as you likely already know first hand, but there is a way to help curb the rate of deterioration of maximum durability. Not to mention the cost alone of making all of those trips is bad enough, but did you realize everything that is enchanted costs more to repair than a plain version of the same equipment?
Being a 25 year old, I get 3.6% Proficiency for every hit on a mob not rated weak or weakest. And according to the wikis, I can get 4.5% on Thursdays once it has been implemented. At my current rate I get about 6 Proficiency levels for every loss of a durability point, or a little less than, and I am dedicated to leveling weapons exclusively, as being 25, I don't have much use for grinding up my character level. So while you are busy running the dungeons with your friends, you can have the weapon you wish to be a completed one be leveled quickly at the same time.
It does take up my time and that time which I could be leveling my own weapons to sell, and leveling them fast saves on repairs by needing less to get the same result, but I do offer this service to the players at a rate of 500gold per Proficiency for one handed types (1000 for two handers as they take longer due to the swing speed, and I'm saving you a vast amount more on repairs with them).
