REDbook or Regional Enrichment Directory is an effort to map out community learning partners and opportunities across the Brunswick and MSAD 75 school districts. By creating a database of potential volunteers and organizations with expertise as well as needs, REDbook could be a resource for service-learning as well as other types of community based learning.

The language arts department needed a performance space for student written and produced plays. The Alternative School Program (school within a school) designed, solicited community support, and built an outdoor stage for use by other students at the Middle School.

Fifth-grade students identified intergenerational contact as a source of concern. A class visited the Highlands, a residential center for seniors, and established friendships with residents. Students interviewed their grandfriends about their lives and wrote oral histories that they shared with each other.
A student initiated this project as part of the activities of the District Service-Learning Leadership Team to demonstrate alternative approaches to developing engaging student-driven projects.
